WASHOUGAL, Wash. (July 12, 2010) MotoSport has just announced a
$3,000-plus prize package donation to be given away as part of its title
sponsorship of the “Retro National” at Washougal MX Park on Saturday,
July 24. Drawings for the items will be held at 5:30 p.m.
This year’s race commemorates the 30th anniversary of Washougal’s
participation in the AMA sanctioned series. There will be a number of
displays celebrating the park’s history, as well as a collection of
vintage race bikes and an exhibition of their “old school” riders.
Spectator gates for the 2010 AMA Lucas Oil Motocross Championships open
at 7 a.m. on Saturday.
“Retro” also serves as a theme for the MotoSport giveaway. Among the
items being raffled are a near-mint 1979 Yamaha YZ125 and a Retro
Collage Poster
poster includes images of past event posters, photos of race winners, a
ticket stub and press pass, and a past article from Cycle News. Included
in the prize package are a $200 MotoSport Gift Certificate, a Scott
mountain bike and other items company spokesman Jarrod Rogers says are
“really cool.”
Participation in the giveaway is free, and tickets are available at
MotoSport’s booth in vendor row July 24th starting at 8 a.m. Attendees
are encouraged to come early, as only 5000 tickets will be handed out.
Participants must be 18 years of age or older and must be present at the
5:30 p.m. drawing to win.
As in past years, visitors to the MotoSport tent will also be treated to
free water, koozies, sunscreen and temporary tattoos.
Thanks go out to MotoSport’s Bill Butcher, and a special thanks to Scott
Russell of MotoSport Hillsboro, for their very charitable donation of
the collector’s bike.
