 May he live forever in our hearts. -Today we bid farewell to an incredible guy, a great friend, and a true fan of our sport. Kip and I were not great friends. We didn’t hang out outside of moto, we didn’t really talk outside of moto. That being said, I’ve known him since he started riding. I’ve picked him up off the dirt more than once, and even in pain he was always smiling, because he was at a motocross track. His love for the sport and his affinity for finding the good at the track even on the worst day never failed to energize me, and made me happy to be there. His passion, his love for our local kids, for Josh, Landon, Justin, Chris. He would follow the results online closer than I would and if I ever wanted to talk amateur (or pro) moto he was ready. Today we lost a friend, a brother, an embodiment (to me, anyway) of what our sport is, and what it means. He can not, and will not be replaced. That being said, I don’t think he would want us to feel sorrow. Rather, and I am not trying to speak for him, as that is not my place, but perhaps we should all take a lap, enjoy the smell of the exhaust, the sounds of the bikes and generators, the feel of the dirt and the wind, and think of Kip. BAJA 1000 EVER WANTED TO DO THIS RIDE!!! Of course well the closes we are coming is sponsoring a BIKE AND ATV TEAM for BAJA 1000 in November. Want to be a part of the excitement. Attend the Dual Sport Ride!!! CRAZY MONEY will be doing a documentary on the trip.... Team PROCALIBER ROCKS AGAIN!!!!!!

Last Sunday was a blast! I raced the 30+ Intermediate class. Along with racing Power Yamaha Kawasaki was working with Crazy Money productions to make a video of all of us riding! My self and the crew from Power all wore Crazy Money’s go pro cameras during our races. Should be some good footage of racing. I finished a strong 6th place out of 15 intermediate riders and felt great on the day. I feel I have the strength to run a good 6 lap moto but still having issues with my prosthetic leg sweating after about lap 4, which makes cornering tough and just keeping it from turning becomes paramount over charging the remaining laps. I’m working with Summit Orthotics and Prosthetics to remedy the problem and hope to have a new system soon so I can contend with the leaders of the intermediate class! Either way I love riding and racing so make sure to come say hi and watch for me this coming weekend as I will be representing one of my great sponsors Power Yamaha Kawasaki at the Top Gun race at Washougal over the labor day weekend! As soon as the video is available of last weeks race I’ll post it.. DT |
